- Dyna EXTOR(ST) II in the hand can be used to achieve arthrodesis involving metacarpal and interphalangeal joints.
- In delayed and established nonunions of metacarpal and phalangeal fractures, external fixation may be useful to align and compress the bone to help achieve healing.
-  In malunions of metacarpals and phalanges, external fixation in combination with reconstructive osteotomy can corect and maintain alignment.
